Important: this is the MS651 cylinder, part number 1144 020 1201. It is not the MS661 cylinder. The MS661 and MS661C use 1144 020 1200 and 1144 020 1202. Both saws share the 1144 platform and a 56mm bore, but STIHL assigns them different cylinder numbers. Check the number on your old cylinder before ordering.
The MS651 is a professional grade saw. When you replace a top end, also inspect the crankshaft seals, the intake boot and the impulse line, since an air leak is the most common reason a top end fails in the first place. Check the muffler and spark arrestor screen while the cylinder is off.
