Measure your actual opening width and your railing height before buying.
Check your local building code. Residential deck guards are generally required to be at least 36 inches high with no opening large enough to pass a 4 inch sphere. Confirm how the gate sits in your railing meets what your jurisdiction requires.
This is a standard deck gate. It is not a pool barrier gate. Pool codes require self closing hinges, a self latching mechanism, specific latch height and outward swing. If you are enclosing a pool or spa, use a gate built and rated for that purpose.
