How these differ from regular walkie talkies: instead of transmitting radio to radio, these send encrypted audio over the cellular network. Two radios can be in different states and still talk instantly. No repeaters, no line of sight limits and no FCC license.
Please read before buying
These require cellular coverage to function. In areas with no LTE signal they will not transmit. If you need communication in remote backcountry with no cell service, a GMRS or ham radio is the right tool instead. For highway RV convoys, job sites, farms, events and city use, coverage is generally good.
The included SIM covers 1 year of service. After that the service must be renewed to keep the radios working. Confirm the current renewal cost with the manufacturer before the term ends.
IP54 means splash resistant. Do not submerge.
