Ford changed the turbo mid year. This assembly fits late 1999 and later only. It will not fit an early 1999 truck.

How to tell them apart
Early 1999: Powerstroke badge on the fender, 4 bolts holding the compressor housing
Late 1999: Powerstroke badge on the door, 5 bolts holding the compressor housing

Engines built before December 1998 are early build and take a different turbo. If your existing turbo is marked 1825878C91, 702650-0001, 471128-9010 or 1831339C91, this is not the correct part.

Installation note: replace the turbo oil feed line at the same time. A restricted or contaminated feed line is the most common cause of a new turbo failing shortly after install, and the line costs a fraction of the turbo.
