Off-peak scheduling is where the money is. Many utilities charge substantially less overnight, and setting the charger to start after peak hours can cut charging costs without any change to your routine.
Electrical requirements, please read before ordering
This unit plugs into a 240V NEMA 14-50 receptacle. If you do not already have one, a licensed electrician will need to install it. That is a separate job and a separate cost.
A 40 amp continuous load requires a 50 amp breaker at minimum under the National Electrical Code. A 60 amp circuit gives you headroom. Do not plug this into a NEMA 14-50 on a 40 amp breaker, which is common at RV sites, as it will trip.
Have the receptacle and circuit inspected before first use if you are unsure. A worn or under-rated 14-50 receptacle is a known fire risk under sustained 40 amp load.
