The System 3 design combines the cartridge and the water collecting manifold into one module, with the manifold sitting between the inner and outer pleats. Water filters through both the outer fabric surface and the inner core surface, which is where 500 sq ft of area fits into a tank this size.

This set fits the S8M500 only. It does not fit the S8M150, which is a 450 sq ft filter using kit 170147 and cartridges 25021-0202S and 25022-0203S. It does not fit the S7M400 or S7M120.
Read the part numbers molded into your existing cartridges and measure them against the dimensions listed above.
Replace both modules as a set. Running a new module against a worn one loads the new one unevenly and shortens its life.
