Pressure balance means the valve holds your set temperature when someone flushes a toilet or starts the dishwasher. It also prevents scalding from a sudden loss of cold water.
The tub spout is what separates this from a shower-only system. If you have a tub and shower combination, this is the set you need, and swapping in a shower-only system would leave you without a way to fill the tub.
Installation, please read before ordering
This is not a swap in upgrade. Installing a wall mounted shower system with a tub spout requires opening the wall, removing existing fixtures and repiping. It is a remodel job, not a fixture change.
Plan on a licensed plumber unless you have done this work before. Get the valve set at the correct depth for your finished wall before you close it up, because correcting that later means opening the wall again.
Confirm your plumbing is 1/2 inch NPT, which is standard in the US and Canada.
